I've
always had an interest in working out, not a passion. About 10 years ago,
I moved home from college and started going to the gym with my now husband
Vince, stepped outside of my comfort zone and started lifting weights with him
(unlike the cardio queen I was in college). This is where I started to see
results! Friends began to ask if I could help them as we were all getting
married around the same time. Fast forward about a few years later, the
manager at the gym asked if I would be interested in teaching group
fitness! The answer was "HELL YEAH!" Mind you, I was 3 months
postpartum and listening to everyone tell me there's no way my husband and I
were going to make it work at the gym after having a baby.

While sitting on the couch with my husband I said I want to turn this hashtag
#bridgethegapworkouts into something more! I started to provide full workouts
on my personal facebook, which then transpired into a
separate @bridgethegapworkouts Instagram/Facebook. Not too long
after we found out we were pregnant with our second child! Then came the
comments..."say goodbye to your workouts", "you should probably
slow down with running", "are you sure you want to teach class
still?" The answer to all this, WATCH US:) We worked out a schedule
that still fit in our family time, work & WORKING OUT. Some of those
workouts included Ava in the stroller or on my back for planks, My husband’s
alarm going off at 4:20a to get to the gym before work, or packing my clothes
and working out at work quickly before daycare pickup.

September
8th, 2016-
Bridge The Gap Workouts, LLC becomes official! Maternity leave was over, and it
was time to slowly but surely move towards dedicating all my working hours to
BTG. Thankfully, I was able to work about 30 hours a week at The Chamber
of Commerce for Greater Montgomery County until I was ready to take this on
full time! After a not so well attended workout event at Boardroom Spirits had
me down, I still remember the owner, Z, telling me "When There's A Will
There's A Way, and I can tell you have it"! Z’s words have stuck with me
ever since, so when those "lows" of running your own business creep
in, these words come to mind and I keep on keepin on. She probably thinks
I'm crazy, but I remind her every time I see her!

I’m also currently on day 690 (as of 4/19) of #BTGrunstreak ! That’s at least a mile a day every damn day. If none of this blog has motivated you, maybe my run streak will! Set yourself a goal, reach it, then set another:) I always say “if it doesn’t challenge ya, it doesn’t change ya” that’s true in all aspects of life!
If
you've made it this far in this post, you are officially a part of this chapter
of my book and I thank you for that!
